You are loved...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Samwise the Australian Cattle Dog - wishing you love, and more love.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance ... love will last forever!
1 Corinthians 13:4–8 (NLT)

Three things will last forever - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love.
Corinthians 13:13 (NLT)

I know that Valentine's Day seems to be promoted more for the romantically linked hearts, but I believe Valentine's Day is for EVERYONE who has love in their heart. I wish EVERYONE a Happy Valentine's Day!

Let your love radiate!

And know, you are loved...

Between you, me and the gatepost,

Loree

Love Songs...

Well, it's Valentine's Day week! I want to talk about loves songs today. Before I dive in, I want to bring you up to date...

All is going well with our chocolate experiment. Hubs and I have been eating one piece of "good" dark chocolate per day since the beginning of February. I believe it does elevate your mood. I've been having my piece with my afternoon tea. I found that I've been laughing more and generally feeling good. Except for my knee, I seem to have less everyday aches and pains, and even throw less stress in there. I'm going to continue with the chocolate experiment to the end of the month.

I also haven't picked two people to pass the Queen of the Quill award on to yet. I realized this morning that I hadn't done that. I really want to take the time to think about it. I'll feature that next week. I've been so busy pounding the keyboards, and typed THE END to my WIP this morning. It felt good! Now to pass it on to my critique partners and brace for revisions.

And now...LOVE SONGS

One of the first things I do when I hear a new song is to listen to the words. There was a time (many, many moons ago) that I thought I would be a great lyricist. I have folders filled with love lyrics stuffed away in boxes. Writing a love song is like writing a one page synopsis of a romance novel. Most times the entire tale can be told in a short, yet meaningful, few verses. There can be sweet love, longing, sadness, pain, hurt, bliss, separation, sheer happiness and joy - in other words - heart wrenching and heart pounding words of love.

There are many love songs that are dear to my heart that come from all over the music spectrum - Rock, Country, Christian, Musicals, Movie Soundtracks, R & B, and so on. Far too many to list.

But, one of my all time favorites is from the movie, Titanic - My Heart Will Go On - written by Will Jennings/James Horner, and sung by one of the greatest love song singers ever - Celine Dion. It's a story of true eternal love. I still get chills when I hear the opening Irish sounding flutes...

If you haven't heard that song lately, take a listen below on the YouTube video posted at the bottom of this post. Yes, I got the chills again...

I know that Valentine's Day seems to be promoted more for the romantically linked hearts, but I believe Valentine's Day is for EVERYONE who has love in their heart. I wish EVERYONE a Happy Valentine's Day! Let your love radiate!

What's your favorite love song? What love song has touched your heart?

Between you, me and the gatepost,

Loree

My Heart Will Go On

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you, go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you, go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go 'til we're gone

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
(Mmhmm)

You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Words and Music by Will Jennings and James Horner

CHOCOLATE...

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, this week I thought I would talk about...CHOCOLATE.

Before I do dive in, I wanted to mention that I was honored with the Queen of the Quill Blog Award by Victoria Lindstrom! Victoria is a pre-publishied writer of picture books, middle grade novels, and she's a published poet to boot! Her hubby is a gallery repped oil painter. Together they enjoy the arts as they proceed as partners on the path of  life. Ooooh, ROMANTIC!

Do visit her website and blog : http://writofwhimsy.blogspot.com

By the way, Victoria designed the award. Isn't it awesome?

This award is given to a writer/blogger who possesses these three attributes:
1- The writer has been recognized for the excellence of her "quill" by being agent-represented and/or published.
2- She has reached out and generously encouraged others in blogosphere, while maintaining a quality blog.
3- The integrity of her character is of such a high level that her very life inspires others.

I am humbled! I love this award -  a sweet nod and a gift. Thank you, Victoria! I will be passing this award along to 2 other inspiring bloggers next week.

NOW ON WITH THE CHOCOLATE TALK!

In recent years, it has been reported that chocolate, in moderation, is beneficial to our health, especially the heart. They call chocolate the Love Drug. Cocoa is rich in anti-oxident polyphenols. Chocolate contains caffeine, keeping us alert with no fatigue. Chocolate also raises our serotonin, making us feel good.

I'm not an chocolate expert, but I love the stuff. It does make me happy. Hubby and I have started a chocolate experiment. We are eating a piece of good, dark chocolate a day up to Valentine's day. Hey, this is my kind of experiment! I'm going to see if it really does elevate my mood, and if it gives us the enhanced lovey dovey feeling. I'll let you know how it goes...

Do you believe chocolate is beneficial to your health?

Does eating chocolate change your mood? Make you happy?

What's your favorite chocolate?

Below - I found a few quotes on chocolate. Enjoy!
