JOY!

FYI- I've been told by a few friends that they are having trouble leaving a comment on my blog. Hopefully, Blogger will get this fixed.

Happy Monday everyone! Next week, I’ll have some news to share with you. This past weekend, I’ve crossed a huge milestone on my writing journey. The only thing I can say right now is that it’s somewhat connected with one of my old blog posts that all began on Mother’s Day 2011.

Oddly, as I looked back today, I found that this old blogpost from May 17, 2011, is called—An old book…a new feeling of joy

What an awesome coincidence… Joy!

Since the beginning of January, I’ve read and commented on several blog posts that suggest not to make resolutions, but to pick one personal word for 2012.

I picked JOY.

Last year, no doubt, my word was TRUST.

At the New Year, I chose JOY as my 2012 personal word because those moments of pure joy are few and far between. I’m one who tends to hold in my emotions instead of allowing them to flow. This year, it’s going to flow. I find joy in a sunset, the smile on my husband’s face, and watching my retired greyhound take a few laps around the yard. I find joy in blogging, writing, and reading. I find joy in the sunny days, rainy afternoons, and starry nights. I find joy in watching my grown kids, still goofy enough to have a spontaneous kitchen dance party or spatula wars.

This year the joy of living is going to flow every day!

What about you? Did you pick a personal word for 2012? What resolutions did you make? Do you allow yourself to really feel the joy of living every day?

Between you, me and the gatepost,

Loree

James 1:2-4 (NIV)

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Writing is like playing an instrument -- the more you play, the better you get. It's a good idea to set a manuscript aside for a time, then go back to it later. I've done this myself, and it is amazing what you catch after allowing it to sit for awhile.

I can't wait to hear your news, Loree! I'm excited with you!

I don't have a personal word for 2012, but I do plan on being more positive this year and proactive about my writing.

I'm getting antsy to hear your great news! :-) Exciting!

I love your word. It's so happy and all-encompassing in a good way. I decided to make several resolutions but if I had to choose a word, I believe it would be Balance. Hey, maybe I'll write a post about that :)

Dying to know what milestone you've passed!

I don't have a word for the year either, but I have a good feeling about it. Good things will happen - I will make them!

What a great word choice, Loree! I find that I'm often missing joy in my life too, and most of the time I just have to make a conscious choice to embrace it. Kudos to you for doing just that!

Great word for the New Year, Loree!

I haven't picked a word, but perhaps I should. Since it's something that needs prayer and much thought, I won't choose this moment.

Blessings,
Susan

Great word choice for 2012, Loree! I don't make resolutions, unless you'd count my decision to make changes as I see the need throughout the year. But I do like the word thing. Hmm . . . I may have to steal your word to be my word for 2012 too!

Aloha, Cheryl

Can't wait to hear the good news. :-)

Ooooo! I can hardly wait to hear it! Woohoo! *Pompoms are ready!*

I think if I have to choose a word for this year, it would be HOPE. Last year was such a difficult one for my family - especially Sweet Hubby. I have hope in the Lord that this one will be better, but even if that's not the case, my hope will stay in the Lord.

Oh, and I LOVE the first chapter of James! Especially that verse! So applicable!

That's a great word to focus on. I did make some resolutions this year, but I made them things I could measure. I do better at that because than I can "see" what I've done.

Marji: I love the word HOPE. You state it so beautifully.

Stacy: I like thinking of it in terms of measuring. You are so clever! I'm going to do this too.

Lynda: Welcome here! Joy is such a healthy-feel-good word. I love your blog!

Jessica: Agreed! Joy is a good word to keep close to the heart.

Margie, Stacy, Lynda, and Jessica, thanks for stopping by. I love hearing from you!

Loree, I am looking forward to your news!

My word for 2012 is FORWARD. Last year was a hard year in many ways, so I'm putting it behind me and moving forward with a light spirit.

I think I've settled in on "ZANY!" I've had some serious stuff in my life, and I need a little zany this year! :)

Heather: Zany! I love it! I think you hit on it...we all need a little Zany in our life!

Rosslyn and Heather, thanks for coming by and sharing your thoughts. You guys are awesome!
