What makes you laugh?

Since I will be guest posting over at Lisa Jordan's blog, Promises of Hope and Happily Ever After, on Friday, I will keep this post short and sweet today. I met Lisa through blogging. I discovered her lovely website after reading awesome reviews on her book, Lakeside Reunion. About a month ago, she contacted me after I left a comment on her blog about empty nesting. She is so sweet! She invited me to do a guest post on – Empty Nesters and Puppy Love. I hope you will stop over to her blog on Friday, April 27th.

I want to take a moment and congratulate all who made the semi-final round in the Genesis contest! A huge WAY TO GO! I’m doing the dance of joy with you! Woo Hoo!

Also, I could use your prayers. I’m having, well, a sort of minor health issue, and I’m hoping it’s not serious. It’s just scary, that’s all. I’m not feeling myself. I thank you in advance for your warm thoughts and cyber hugs.

I just have one question for you.

In your world, what makes you laugh?

I may have shared this with you before. I can't remember. Anyway, I'm sharing what makes me laugh on a daily basis. Below is a picture of my greyhound. Her name is Pickles. Isn’t she sweet? But wait…scroll slowly...

It is known that some greyhounds actually “smile.” Yep, I was lucky enough to adopt one of those dogs. When we come home, Pickles greets us at the door with a huge, toothy smile. She smiles when you talk mushy to her. Actually, she looks like she’s snarling and showing teeth, but there is no aggression. She is just so excited and expresses the real emotion by “smiling" along with some happy tail. Okay, look below. Yikes! Creepy huh? It just cracks me up! Doesn’t she look vicious? She is actually smiling on command for a treat. They say a smile is contagious…Pickles makes me laugh every time she smiles.

Praying for your health concerns, Loree. Your picture of Pickles reminds me of the first and only time I saw a dog smile. I was dog-sitting and the dog came into my bedroom in the morning and woke me up then sat back on its rear and smiled. It was hilarious.

That is funny! My dog never smiles. LOL

I laugh at my DH every single day. He is hilarious!

Can't wait to read your guest post. Lisa's a doll! :) Praying for you and hugs!

Oh my goodness! I giggled so much at your dog photos!

Looking forward to reading your post on Lisa's blog!!

And what makes me laugh: my multiple spills each week. I am a serious klutz. :)

I've been praying for you, Loree, and I'll continue to do so.

Your dog is so funny. My 3-year-old makes me laugh every day. I like how he calls Lightning McQueen from Cars "Nort McQueen" and how he says "Where you gonin?" So sweet.

Like, Julie, my kids make me laugh. My almost 3 year old wants to do everything her ownself, I told her I'm going to start calling her Ownself.
My son likes to use big words, even when he doesn't have the context quite right. I love those silly moments.
Dear Jesus,
Please hold Loree up and ease her fears and concerns during this time. You are the author of our bodies and I pray you would heal her. In Jesus name, Amen.

Awww, Pickles is cute! My son is always making me laugh. He's going to be a little comedian. I can't wait till he starts talking. (And I'm probably going to eat those words.)

Praying for you, Loree. God is in control. He's got this. :-)

Oh my goodness, what a funny picture of your dog! And I hope your health issues are resolved, Loree. I know how unsettling it can be when our bodies just don't feel right.

Yes, I hope your health issues are resolved soon, Loree! I too have to say my kids make me laugh all the time!

Sandra: Thanks for the prayers! Pickles smiles in the morning too. She smiles as she runs down the stairs to go out...so funny.

Jessica: I look forward to seeing my post on Lisa's blog. She is such a sweetie! Thanks for the hugs!

Melissa T: Are you a spiller? My oldest daughter is a spiller too. It's so funny to watch her with a glass in her hand. You know it's coming! LOL! Thanks for the hugs!

Julie: Thanks for prayers! Your little man sounds adorable! Kids are so cute at that age...they just crack me up.

Melissa: I love when kids try out big words. They can be quite entertaining when they do try to sound so big! Good for him for trying! Thanks for the beautiful prayer. It gave me a real sense of comfort.

Gwen: I've seen a picture of your little man, I would smile all day at him! Such a cutie! Thanks for the prayers.

Sarah: I'm okay, we're just trying to figure out what is causing pain and some dizziness. It is unsettling when you don't know what's going on. Anyway, I'm in great hands.

Melanie: Thanks for your sweet thoughts. Your kids are so cute. Best wishes on your move. I hope it goes smoothly!

Sandra, Jessica, Melissa T, Julie, Melissa N, Gwen, Sarah, and Melanie, thanks for stopping in! I appreciate your warm thoughts and prayers. It means so much...thank you!

Yes, that does look like a snarl, but you say she's smiling so I'll take your word for it. :) Hope things get sorted out for you real quick and hopefully get back to normal.

Loree- My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope everything turns out alright and your anxiety is allayed.

Funny, funny photos! My kids make me laugh. Dogs and kids--such kooks. :)

Loree Huebner said...

J.L.: Yes, that is a smile. She loves to show her teeth. Pickles watches our reaction and knows it makes a squeal when she does it. Thanks for the well wishes!

Jayne: I think anxiety makes everything worse than it is. I'm okay, really, and everyone's sweet thoughts and prayers are just the perfect medicine. You're right. Kids and dogs are such kooks! Gotta love em!

J.L., and Jayne, thanks you so much for taking the time to stop in and comment. It means a lot.

Dog smiles are hilarious and I am smitten with Pickles. I've always wanted to adopt a greyhound, and one that smiles like Pickles would be bonus times ten. : )

Sending out prayers, warm thoughts, and cyber hugs for you as you go through this rough patch. Here's hoping all will be well soon.

Oh wow, Pickles' smile is rather frightening--hilariously so. Funny she does that. ;o) Prayers for your health issues, and for peace until you find out what's going on. *hugs*

Loree - So sorry about not popping over to your blog post sooner; I'm not very happy about the new Blogger format. I will definitely remember you in my thoughts & prayers, hoping you feel better. What makes me happy? Lately, the hilarious FB cartoons. However, the photo of Pickles just made me chuckle!

A friend adopted a rescue greyhound. She was a sweet-tempered dog. I love the name you picked! I'm sure there's a story behind it.

I read an article in a magazine about what kind of clutterer are you? The descriptions made me laugh so hard that I was gasping for breath.

Loree Huebner said...

Cynthia: Greyhounds are great dogs. They have a hard life on the track, and when they retire, they're just happy to have a home.

Stacy: So great that your kids make you laugh. No wonder you're always smiling!

Carol: Thanks for the hugs. Pickles does look scary. She's a real sweetie though.

Victoria: Thanks for the prayers. I am feeling better. I love FB cartoons.

Susan: J & J Pickles was her racing name. Her mother's name was Gingers Pickles. We didn't try to change it.

Cynthia, Stacy, Carol, Victoria, and Susan, thanks for stopping in. Always love to read your comments.

My cats make *me* smile, especially when they are rolling around on the floor in a happy abandon, or when they purr madly and nuzzle in as we cuddle. There is much satisfaction in the simplicity of their joy.

I hope your health issue clears up soon.

Charolotte: You are so right about cats. My daughter has two cats and they are so silly. We do get tons of laughs from watching them. Thanks for stopping in!
