A Week of Rain and Work...

After a week of hard rain, the sun has come out. It always does, doesn't it? Spring is in the air. I feel it now. You can smell the earth. The tree buds are finally showing up here in Northern Indiana. Is spring showing itself bit by bit, or is it in it's full glory where you live?

Last week, I returned to work full time since my knee surgery. That's why I haven't been around much online. Anyway, it felt so wonderful to be back. Now, I have been adjusting to the new schedule, finding that happy place to write and work. I work days, take a few hours off for myself & hubby, make dinner, and do physical therapy three times a week, then I come home and write. It seems to be working so far. I get several good hours of writing in before I get tired. Ever have to adjust your writing schedule do to work or other obligations? Did you manage a happy place for both?

I would love to hear from you!

Don't forget...
Next Monday, April 29, Author Amy Lillard will return with a guest post here at Between you, me and the gatepost, so look for that!

Have a great week!

Between you, me and the gatepost,

Loree

I'm glad you have fully recovered from your knee surgery, Loree. It sounds like you've landed upon a great balance for your life.
Whenever, our boys come home for a visit my writing schedule always gets turned topsy-turvy; but then, I wouldn't want it any other way. Most days I do chores, social network, & run errands in the morning, and write all afternoon. You have a good week too!

We had snow on Saturday, didn't stick, but still... I was thrilled to see my hubby's new barometer climbing to the "fair" side of the dial for the first time since we put it up!!! yippee! :) Glad to hear your recovery is going well.

I'm glad the surgery went well and you're on your way to recovery.

Yes! I am constantly adjusting my blogging/writing/networking schedules to find that perfect balance. With three kids, one of them still at home all day, I don't have a very set schedule yet. But I usually manage to fit it all in somehow!

Glad you're recovering, Loree!

I recently took a new job that required me to adjust my writing schedule. It was hard at first, not being able to write when or how I wanted, but it taught me to be more efficient with my time.

Adjustment is my middle name these days.

With the book launch settling into normal marketing mode, I'm setting up a writing schedule. So far, I'm managing to get 2 1/2 - 3 hours a day. I hope I can maintain that pace.

Glad to hear that you're back to work and writing! It sounds like you've found a schedule that's working well for you. Spring is in full swing here in GA. The pollen count was over 8000 last week! Much more manageable once we had a good rain - temps. are a little on the cool side for this late in the season. But I'm thoroughly enjoying it!! God bless!

Victoria: Injuries are crazy. I had an added stress fracture to the upper tibia, along with the torn cartilage, and messed up meniscus. Actually, I'm still having trouble with pain and major swelling, but it was time to go back to work. My writing takes second when my kids are home too.

Sandra: It has been snowing a lot in many places this year! I have a barometer app. I love to watch it rise and fall.

Cindy: When you have the little ones, your schedule is never normal on anything...lol. I remember those days.

Brandi: It is hard not to be able to write when you want. Somehow, though, we always find the time to write.

Susan: 2 to 3 hours is good. You have made a lot of adjustments recently, Susan. So happy for you!

Maria: We are still about 3 weeks away from spring and blossoms. I do feel the pollen count rising. My eyes have been watering more than normal. We had 70 today, but back down into the 50's the rest of the week.

Thank you all for stopping in! Love hearing from you!

Happy to hear you are recovering, Loree.
And there's "happy" -- and then there's "happy."
PT and adjusting schedules ... it's a "wow, this is hard work and bothersome, but I'm not going to quit" kind of happy, isn't it?
Glad to see you blogging again!

Welcome back, Loree!

Yes, I've had to adjust my writing schedule many times, to accomodate everything from speaking trips to Vacation Bible School. If you are committed, the Lord helps you adjust.

And you are very committed. I admire that!

Hi Loree, we got spring weather here in KY, and a lot of rain. I'm praising God that my alergies haven't flared up yet. :-)

Writing time is hit or miss, but I've expected and accepted that since moving to KY. I'd like to have a set routine and schedule in the future, but I'm leaving that in God's hands.

It's autumn here in Oz. The days are getting shorter and colder. I'm loving it!

I hear knee surgery can be somewhat painful. I hope it's not too bad now. Good to hear you're finding a schedule that's working too.

So glad you are doing better and back at it! Yes, I haven't been able to write as much now with working on our new house. And so I must squeeze it in when I can!
