Some of you know that I’ve been recovering from
partial knee surgery. This is my second surgery on the same knee. I must say
the recovery has been long and extremely painful. I am still off work, but
hope to be back by May. Anyhow...
Having some extra time on my hands, I spent it catching up on my favorite blogs.
Back in February, Author, Dora Hiers, who is part of The Seriously Write Team over at The Seriously Write Blog - caught my attention with her post about Pinterest…Love it or Leave It? - You can
read the post HERE.
Yes, I was one of those who had not joined
Pinterest. Working full time and writing the other part of the day, I told
myself that I didn’t have time to dip one more toe into social media at the
moment.
I had seen it. My daughter had been trying to get me to join for quite some time. I just put the thought on the shelf for the time being.
Then in March, Dora wrote a follow up Pinterest blog
post on Seriously Write titled: Pinterest 101 for Writers – read it HERE. She explains many of the facts and uses of Pinterest - So, I joined up.
On my own, I’ve discovered so many ways to use
Pinterest, and I’m still learning the ropes. I love it because it’s something I
use for myself, and it’s a wonderful way to connect with people who have the
same interests. My boards consist of information, period fashion, research, and
writing prompts for my historical fiction writing. I also keep boards of some
of my favorite places, my style, and what I would love in my garden and jewelry
box. There are so many great ideas for almost any need – baby showers, party
ideas, crafts, and on and on. I also love keeping a recipe board. Last night I
tried one of the recipes that I have pinned and hubby loved it! I feel I have a
whole new recipe book.

I know many of you are Pinterest users and know all
about it, but if you haven’t joined. I highly recommend it.
I want to thank my daughter for encouraging me to
join from the start, and I also want to thank Dora Hiers over at Seriously
Write. Thank you, Dora! Your posts helped me get over myself and join
Pinterest. It is now something I really enjoy doing – browsing and pinning.
Are you on Pinterest?
What do you enjoy most about it?
If not, why not?
Between you, me and the gatepost,
Loree

I am on Pinterest but haven't been as active lately. It's a wonderful site with great ideas and resources. Hope you are felling better! :)
I was just thinking about you and wondering how you were feeling. I am sorry for the pain and slow recovery. As v to Pinterest, I joined a long time ago and didn't use it. Focusing now on Twitter and Goodreads. :)
I love Pinterest Loree! And it's been fun to find you there. I like it for inspiration and decluttering my life. I used to keep files and cut-outs, but no more saving little shreds torn from magazines! Pinterest doesn't collect dust and I love that!! :)
